News and events: archive and current sources
News is most useful when its date and source stay attached to it.
The former news section
The August 2020 capture included notices about worship during the pandemic and an online children’s holiday activity. They document a particular period in parish life. They are not current announcements and are not reproduced here as upcoming events.
Where to look today
Use the current parish news and events page for recent announcements. Check both the publication date and the event date. A search result, screenshot or archived calendar can remain visible long after an event has ended.
The calendar guide explains a simple way to verify an event. The community section provides context for the activities recorded in the former site.
Using old notices as evidence
Record the original page address, the capture date and any date inside the notice itself. A capture date indicates when the archive saved a page; it does not necessarily indicate when the notice was first published. Keep those dates separate when researching the community.
